The four common examples of the locks with electronic keys are the smart lock, which is recognized as an electromechanical lock that can open or close the door with the use of an authorized device through a wireless protocol and cryptographic key; the sidebar lock, which can operate through the use of fins on a radial key that can activate the sidebars by aligning a cylindrical code bar found within the lock; the electronic lock, which is connected to an access control system and can operate via an electronic current; and the keycard lock, which can be operated with the use of flat card like a driver’s license and credit card. The other types of locks are cam lock, bicycle lock, child safety lock, chamber lock, time lock, rim lock, padlock, magnetic keyed lock, luggage lock, protector lock, police lock, Chubb detector lock, lock screen, mortise lock, magnetic lock, combination lock, cylinder lock, deadbolt, and electric strike.
